Lake Higashi-Taisetsu

An artificial lake formed by the construction of the Tokachi Dam for the purpose of flood control and hydroelectric power generation on the Tokachi River.
This lake is second in size only to Lake Nukabira on the Otofuke River and is located in the Taisetsuzan National Park. Crossing the center of the lake by the Higashi Taisetsu Bridge, the road leads to the hidden hot springs of Tomuraushi Hot Springs. Many people visit to enjoy the spectacular seasonal views. It is recommended as a driving course.
